It’s truly commendable the dedication Councilman Richard Cherchio, and Mrs. Laura Coleman have shown in organizing this non-profit initiative to honor and pay tribute to our veterans, military personnel, and first responders. The decision to create a permanent tribute in North Las Vegas is a testament to Councilman Cherchio’s commitment to recognizing the sacrifices made by these brave men and women.
The allocation of an existing structure for this purpose, along with the commitment to cover all construction and maintenance costs through contributions and volunteer efforts, reflects a community-driven approach to honoring our heroes. The inclusion of a tribute to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks, as well as those who suffered from the aftermath, is a poignant reminder of the enduring impact of that tragic day.
The acquisition of a piece of tower steel from ground zero, facilitated by Frank Pizarro, adds a profound and tangible connection to the events of 9/11, ensuring that future generations can understand and appreciate the sacrifices made by so many.
The rendering created by SRS Fabrication of North Las Vegas will provide a glimpse of the thoughtful and respectful tribute that will soon find its home in North Las Vegas.
A tremendous thank you to Councilman Richard Cherchio for his dedication to honoring our veterans, military personnel, first responders, and all those affected by the events of 9/11.
